Robert Winge has loved woodworking since he was 16 years old. As years passed, he began to realize that to stay involved with the work he loved, he had to find a way to make handling the tools less strenuous and safer. His son, Robert L, showed up at the shop one day with a truckload of aluminum extrusion material and like little boys with a new set of building blocks, they set about solving the problem. Father and son spent every night and weekend they could in the shop trying different ways to create a “guiding hand” for the router and other tools, that could handle the weight and move the tools with precision, letting Dad continue to create the intricate projects he loved to do. After hundreds of designs and years of research, the Maxis Tooling System was born. It is our hope that you will enjoy using our tooling system as much as we have enjoyed inventing and building it for you.
